Inconsiderate parents
Just came home from The Chronicles of Narnia at the cinema.
It was a great movie and I would have enjoyed it more if not for a really irritating kid.
Now, this stupid kid kept making noises and going "ooh ah" and repeating each and every single line spoken by the 4 children in the movie, right from the start of the 2hour 20min show. He's such a nuisance that everyone else in the theatre were going "shhh shhh" and best bit of it all? The parents were oblivious about the din this brat was creating. It came to a point where I was seething mad that I exclaimed "Keep Quiet" after the "shhh shhh" obviously didn't work.
Did that shut the brat up?
Nope! He continued happily being a public nuisance and the parents were neither embarassed nor showed any real intent to shut their kid up.
At the end of the show, I saw the kid with the parents making their way out of the cinema (brat was still yelping away, I swear my dogs behave better than him) ..
We started talking aloud to each other.. purposely of course with every intent to be heard..
"Is that the irritating kid in the cinema?"
"Yes, and I think those are his inconsiderate parents..."
And guess what? Brat's parents were not apologetic at all and hollered at us with a remark "He's just a kid, let it rest"
I could feel the bf's boiling anger and I said it to the brat's father's face.
"Yes, we know he's a kid, but as his parents you should take him into hand and not defend him like this. And you are not even apologetic about the whole thing.... !!"
It must have finally dwelled upon the brat's father's head that maybe afterall his son was being irritating and he finally said the s-o-r-r-y word, albeit with a grudgingly look.
"Fine.. let the matter rest"
I said it to end the whole drama before an heated argument surfaced.
Brat's mum? She is the epitome of an all-accommodating mum who yields to brat's every whim and fancy. No wonder brat is so bratty.
I'm not mad with the brat, as much as I did with his parents. Brat being a kid possibly couldn't contain his excitement when he saw the almighty Azlan or the Ice Queen. But the very least the parents could have done is to discipline him, or take him out of the theatre if he can't stop making so much noise!
Don't want to because you paid $9.50 x 3 for the movie tickets on a public holiday?
Hey, guess what? All of us in the movie theatre did too.
Kid can't watch in silence? Get a dvd and play it at home. Your kid can yell and tear the whole house down, for all I care!
