Mardi Mardi

Today's the last of my 5 day long weekend (read 3 days' leave + Sat + Sun) and I spent today with Mum.

We had Jap food for lunch and did some shopping. Nothing caught our eyes much except the food items at NTUC fairprice. Haha.

I am having mixed feelings about going back to work tomorrow. Wish the holiday could last longer... I logged in to my work email via remote access and its not funny how much work awaits..

Eeks.

Sigh, I shall enjoy my CSI before I call it a night. The bustle of work begins again when I awake from my cozy bed.

Enjoy the rest of the week folks! :)

Monday no blue

Its really fab that Jackie's journey back home coincides with my leave.

I haven't seen her for almost 2 years and everytime I think about her, its always the good old days we had sipping midori and playing scramble in university apartments or at the library lawn. Ha.. those lovely days!

She was like a little sister to me back in Sydney and though we hardly meet up these days with her living in Sydney, the sisterly affection I have for her never dwindles away.

We met up for coffee today and she brought her baby son Aidan along. At 17 months old, this boy is a charmer and goes around making people smile and oogle at him. Such a cutiepie. He made his rounds at the table and everyone in the cafe was all enthralled by him. And when he wanted some of our chocolate cake or latte, he kept going 'more.. more' or took his fork and tried to poke at the cake... ha! :)

He was definitely an easy baby until he got really tired and restless close to his bed time but he was still manageable and pacifiable (is there such a word?) .. which gives Jackie and I time to chat and shop around with him in the pram.

..I think I learnt how to manoveure a pram rather well today with all the practice up and down the escalator and snaking round the malls, lol..

He is still learning how to talk now and the next time I see him, he will definitely be calling me Aunty Sharon.. cos Jackie refuses to let him call me Sharon jiejie.

It was an ohm moment

I had every single muscle in my abs stretched today at Yoga. It was achingly satisfying and I had my adrenalin rush at the dance class thereafter. It was some kind of fusion dance with modern steps and lots of indian steps!

I was perspiring buckets but it was a jolly good feeling! :)

And whilst waiting for the bf to pick me up from class, I saw a Dad figure dropping his daughter at the drop off point. This little girly was obviously going for her yoga class. There was no kissing goodbye or hugs but as the little one made her way up the long escalator, the Dad got off his car and stood outside to ensure she got in safe and sound. The little one caught the Dad looking at her with smiley face and waved back with much enthusiasm. Only when the little girl was out of sight, did the Dad made his way back to the car and drove off.

I witnessed the whole 2 - 3 mins episode and it somewhat warmed my heart. I could feel the Dad's love for his little princess and I am sure the little one knew that her Daddy will always be there for her and to watch over her.

Maybe its the maternal instints kicking in... it got me thinking how I would want my future kids' dad to show that much love and concern. And such expression should not only be manifested in material things. A simple reassurance that he'll always be there for there will mean lots more.

Saturday happy day

Chiropractor, Solo Lunch at Swensons, Christmas shopping with Maria, Drinks with Maria.

Quite an eventful and chill out day, really :)

And we had a lovely dinner at home to celebrate Dad's birthday.

And oh, I now have 2 menstruating dogs at home. Nana's period came this morning.

A wonderful day

Its a bliss to be able to sleep in on a weekday, without care and worry about waking up on time for work.

Today's one such day and I'm really glad about it.

My day began with me snuggling in bed till 11ish and I woke up with my two princesses greeting me outside my room door.

Ying has almost grown to be as big as Nana and she's now officially a woman-dog! Her first menstrual period came yesterday and you can tell she's feeling rather lerthagic and moody. Nana was also like that when she had hers. The woes of being a female I tell you, be you a human or a dog.

More pics of my babies..

After jostling with the two princesses for a while, I unwillingly dragged myself to go wash up for lunch. Mum cooked her specialty fried bee hoon and it was absolutely delicious! And washing the bee hoon down with an icy glass of ribena was simply seventh heaven.

Then I hopped down to Town with Bridget and Jones to meet TF for coffee.. well actually none of us had coffee. I had the iced passion tea with country pie which was goodilicious and that woman had fish & chips with some mango drink. It was a pretty chill out session as we chatted about cars and what nots.

Cars ......... vroom vroom vroom!

**

Its Dad's birthday tomorrow and I was explicity requested by that old man to buy him a wallet for his birthday present. So I dragged TF to go shopping and bought Dad a wallet within minutes! Talk about shopping efficiency. Hah

Oh I also bought two workpants because they were on sale and I was going for the baggy look these days. Pants at home do not give that baggy effect, you know.

(... get the joke?) LOL

Met the BF later for dinner and we ate frogs for dinner! ribbit ribbit!

Claypot chilli frogs with Porridge!!! Its super duper nice.. If anyone fancies frogs, drop me a note and I'll divulge the whereabouts! :D

With a filled tummy, I came home to loving welcome barks from my two lovelies and gave Dad his present. Its nice to see a smile on that old man aka Dad.

Its been a wonderful day and bed beckons the fat lady now.

Bonne nuit!
