When 30 is better than 70

Mum was admitted to the hospital day surgery ward this morning for an angiogram because the doctor was not able to detect why her heart was behaving abnormally despite doing the ECG and treadmill tests.

At bright morning 7.30am, we arrived at the hospital all anxious and it wasn't difficult to see how jittery Dad was. We had a legitimate reason to be worried: If the angiogram shows complications of the heart, mum would have to go for a further heart operation and that itself involves risks.

So after waiting for a reasonable amount of time, Mum was sent into the theatre for her angiogram and it took only 40 mins for the results to be out. We were all brimming with joys of tears when the result highlighted that whilst one of her arteries had a 30% blockage , it didn't warrant for an operation (apparently only with a 70% blockage will the doc operate), but she would have to be on daily medication.

Thank God!

Mum was then wheeled back to her ward for 4 hours rest before she was allowed to be discharged. I asked her a silly question which of course she had to give me the most predictable answer in reply.

"Which is more painful, this or childbirth"
"childbirth lah, its like you are being ripped apart"
"......"

Now I have find ways to to coax/force/induce her to take her medication :)

A Mission

Toshi the laptop has been rather sluggish in his performance these days.

So what's a girl gotta do about it? High time to throw in the reformat disk and give him a new lease of life!

But before a new life begins for Toshi, I have been busy doing backups of my junk of the past 2 years. Photos, word documents, excel spreadsheets and what not.

Being the Kia-su/Kia-see true blue Singaporean I am, I not only backup my photos on Cds, I embarked on a mission to upload them online! :) Hee thank God for unlimited storage. You can check out the photos here

That aside, I am also trying to feed Bridget with music files. Been buying too many music Cds and leaving them on the shelf. Time to Itune them for Bridget the Ipod!

I'm shocked

Flabbergasted more like it.

A friend told me end May that he just broke up with his gf of 3 months, blah blah blah. And he would have married her if she wasn't lying to him about her ex.

Then just yesterday, he told me he got married in July, to one of his ex girlfriends from the 1990s.

Because? He wants to get married.

I don't understand all these. Since when is marriage a hasty thing?
