Walking down Memory Lane
I have this drawer where I throw everything that I couldn't convince myself to sort. When my mum nags about the mess of it and wants me to tidy, I claim it is my little drawer of momentos and knick-knacks of my glorious past.. unravelling it will require a special moment where I can be emotionally ready to deal with it.
Yeah crap I know, but that's quite an innovative excuse to give your Mum when you don't want to tidy up your room. lol.
Anyways, anyhow I pulled open the drawer today saw how it was a really a real big mess. Digging through them, I found:
-My diary/journal (handwritten one, know nothing about online journals back then) detailing my 16th-18th years.
I re-read the whole thing and other than the realisation that my handwritting has changed since then, I was basically laughing out loud at myself! I wrote about who liked me eg Wilfred (who is this guy??), but mostly who I liked (Andrew, David, Nic etc..) .. and I wrote a lot about my O levels exams, family problems (Mum&Dad were going through a rough patch), my relationships with friends like Jenny, Pam and Angela etc.
Ah. Memories. Good and bad but nonethless equally precious.
-Old business cards of friends
Fang, I have one from PWC where you were still an associate and where numbers don't begin with "6", how antique is that! :D
-Another diary detailing my relationship with David and Kevin (the two exes)
Unlike my adolescent diary, I discarded this after I re-read my entries. Looking back, I must have been blind to endure all the nonsense and crap from these 2 guys, especially Mr K.
Ah well, good riddance to bad rubbish (literally)
-A Cat Photoframe
This was given by Pam on my 14th or was it 13th birthday? I think it came as a pair but I can only find one, what happened to the other one?
-My badges of honour
Asst Prefect, Prefect, Head Prefect, Student Council Executive Committee and my secondary school name badge.
-Postcards from London
Got them in a secondary 2 school trip to London. Fun fun fun! I want to go London soon!
A sudden thought. Maybe I should start a Time Capsule of some sort to be opened 10 years from now.
Great idea, but let me clear more clutter away from my room first. 1 drawer down, many more drawers to go... acks.
