1st post in 2008

A little late, isn't it? For my very first post in 2008 to happen in August..

Amazing how fast time flies by so quickly, and it got me into this reflection mode.

Yes while I think I've achieved considerable results in the career sphere this past 8 months, I don't seem to have the luxury of time to stop, breathe, smell the flowers and simply.. to just think.

Di-da di-Da-DI

Its been a while since I got hit with the blogging bug. From being compulsively turning on my laptop daily the moment I got home, I prefer to join mum in being a couch potato these days in front of the black box.

Yes, I could surf the net and watch tv at the same time, but with age comes the declining ability to multi-task I reckon!

The car and drive is good. I love my Jazmi to the max! Am clocking almost 2000km soon and am getting more confident with driving and lane switching. Definitely have lots to improve to become a much smoother driver but at least getting behind the wheels and/or parking doesn't give me sweaty palms these days! :)

Oh, I also cropped my hair short yesterday, to a bob. Am geting sick and tired of having long hair and tying it up daily, not to mention hair loss from pulling the roots too much. Still jet black though, having itchy backside to add some colour to it... we shall see...

Solo Driving - Day 1

I went solo today and was a little jittery but all went quite ok on the road.... :)

The challenging bit came when I tried to park! 2 failed attempts at reverse parking and also cause i was running late, i decided to do a head in to the next available lot and it was a 'one-time-parking'... hahaha

And funny thing is, when I came back home, i was trying to reverse park, head in (in that order at different lots) before I finally successfully did my reverse parking into a lot. Not quite in the centre, slight geared towards the right, but at least i was in the lot, and Jazmi was straight!

Not bad for now i reckon :D

Jazmi - Day One

Done 200+km today on the road.
Paid 63 dollars for full tank.
Paid 20 dollars for parking coupon.
Horned twice at idiots who suddenly cut in front of me.
Cursed and sweared at Taxi Drivers.

In conclusion..
Driving was fun, but I am not so steady yet.
Need to stop drifting too much and concentrate.
Parking needs to improved.

Where we went gallavanting today:

Collected my new car at 12noon today at Leng Kee, and drove to Tuas Raffles Marina for lunch via AYE.

Then its AYE to Office area. Then its back home via the daily route I'll take.

**Took an afternoon nap to recharge**

After a sumptuous dinner by mum, we set off again. This time, its home to Office via KJE BKE, then office to future new home at the East via ECP.

Then its PIE BKE KJE home. After a painful trial at parking and finally getting my car into the lot, I realised what a pea brain I was for leaving my bag at the future new home so had to drive back. But I was darn tired so bf took over the driving. I was happy being a passenger :D

After retrieving the bag, he decided to show mum around the east a bit, even the red light district Geylang... so Jazmi zoomed again and mum was gawking at the flesh parade.

Seems like I covered all major expressways today, left CTE and TPE to go only... haha...

Man I'm so exhausted. time to sleep... tomorrow is solo-driving to work!!!!!

The Deed Is Done

I signed on the dotted lines for the most expensive possession ever (excluding the apartment)

My own 4 wheels coming my way in a month's time! :)

Test drive just now was horrible during peak hours traffic and as usual my lane-cutting was reckless and dangerous. Which is why, I am booking myself for a few refresher lessons till car collection day.

Hee...
